Matthew Ricks

As a financial planner who focuses on the disabled community, I have discovered the perfect way to merge financial planning with my passion for serving others. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, I have a wide range of financial experience. My previous professional experience includes:

  • 8 years with J.P Morgan Asset Management

  • 5 and a half years with Wells Fargo Advisors

  • 2 years with Ameriprise Financial

I earned my MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business and earned a Finance degree from The Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University.

I currently live on Long Island with my wife and our two sons. We enjoy pretending to be dinosaurs, shooting hoops, and learning about Pokemon. When not spending time with my family or running Haystack, you may find me walking one of the local golf courses, tapping a beat with my fingers (I'm a recovering drummer), or contemplating my next home improvement project.

What Sets Me Apart

Financial planning is part science and part art. While the science may not differ too much between advisors, the art is where the real value is added. What sets me apart is my ability to guide clients artfully and thoughtfully so that they are armed with the knowledge and information to make the best decisions for themselves.

My practice is focused on working with the disabled community. I take a comprehensive view of the client’s financial life to create a sense of security that allows them to focus more on living the life they want to lead. I operate on a fee-only basis and am a fiduciary, which means I act in your best interests.

Accessibility is very important to me as a person and as a business owner. These are the steps taken currently to ensure accessibility across all aspects of my website and business:

• Offer a virtual option for all services, as well as a fully digital client experience

• Exceed the standard ADA compliance guidelines for my website

• Ensure my content has alt text, photo descriptions, captions, etc. to ensure all members of the community can access the information
